ALTEF® and ANOTEC® 15–70 µm, depending on the alloy (in individual cases even thicker); standard coating thickness for ALTEF® and ANOTEC® is 40 µm (except for EN AW-2XXX)
EMATEF® and EMATEC® 10-25 µm, depending on the alloy; ELOX 5–25 µm, as required
ALTEF ® / ANOTEC ®
The colour of the coating depends on the alloy, coating thickness and processing. In different material compositions, shadings from light grey to charcoal grey and from bronze to dark brown are possible. For more information on the colours of the different coatings, see Alloys. ALTEF ® and ANOTEC ® can be dyed black.
ALTEF ®-GOLD / ANOTEC ®-GOLD
Due to this special process a gold-like colour is achieved. For possible alloys we announce on request.
The coating is transparent. ELOX can be coated black: minimum coating thickness of 15µm.
EMATEF ® / EMATEC ®
The look of the coated surface is like email. The colour varies from light gray to brown-gray to bronze depending on the alloy. For more information on the colours of the different coatings, see Alloys.
The coating is transparency and slightly iridescent. ANOBOND ® can`t be dyed.
Coating thickness tolerance for wrought alloys +/-5 µm (less for thinner coating thicknesses), for casting alloys +/- 10 µm
Production tolerance = pre-machining tolerance +/- coating tolerance
Example: Drilling 25H7 (0/+0,021)
ALTEF®/ANOTEC®: 40 µm coating thickness: 25+0.045/+0.056 mm EMATEF®/EMATEC®: 20 µm coating thickness: 25+0.011/+0.026 mm
ELOX: 15 µm coating thickness: 25 +0.013/+0.028 mm
